My story begins in the most unusual of places—a nursing home, where I grew up, a child among elders. At just seven, I first met 'Death' as a quiet presence, a visitor who, over time, would become an unexpected companion. As I grew older, I joined the family’s work, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and climbed the ranks to management. After 30 years, we finally closed those doors.

Then, in 2007, the loss of my brother in a car accident shook my world. My first child was born the following year, and these profound events rerouted my life in ways I could never have foreseen. When we closed the nursing home, I found myself caring for my parents, fulfilling their wishes to spend their final days at home. I guided them through the last chapter of their lives, feeling both sorrow and honor, as Death became woven into the fabric of my existence. It was no longer something to fear but a familiar part of life, present in every loss and goodbye.

Yet, as life unfolded, I found myself peeling back layer after layer, exploring a vast world of healing and self-discovery. My training in energy medicine and other holistic practices began transforming me, offering a light I didn’t know I’d been seeking. I learned that I could bring life to Death, and, in a beautiful twist, I welcomed Death to my own life—letting go of the person I once was, embracing the person I am becoming. Along the way, I’ve said goodbye to my old life, home, marriage, and even a child, but I’ve discovered a deep compassion and magic in it all.

Today, I carry that magic into my work. I honor those crossing into the unknown, offering blessings, candle-lit vigils, and gentle presence, so that no one journeys alone.
